About the installation

HoloX (2026) is a holographic installation designed to transform a space into an immersive, interactive, and poetic experience. At the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling, this unique system brings environments and concepts to life in three dimensions, without the need for glasses or traditional screens.

For MUTEK, the device becomes the medium for three distinctive works presented in their world premieres:

VERDARADIX (Melannie Jonas-NG) depicts a world reborn through human attention, reminding us that stewardship of our land is more responsible when it is temporary and in harmony with the earth.

LATENCES (Jonathan Guillou) evokes the desire for connection, invisible delays, and interferences that disrupt our communications through a series of suspended, luminous holographic sculptures.

CE QUE LA NUIT RÉVÈLE (Jean-François Clermont) brings forth a fragment of forest illuminated by machine-like fireflies in the heart of the urban space, offering a mysterious encounter between the living world and its technological interpretation.

Jonathan Guillou ^FR/CA Based in Montreal, Jonathan Guillou is a French-Canadian digital artist and motion designer. Trained in fine arts in France, he creates immersive and poetic visual experiences combining technical expertise, aesthetics, and storytelling.

Jean-François Clermont ^CA/QCBased in Montreal, Jean-François Clermont is a digital artist, artistic director, and experimental musician. For over twenty years, he has explored the connections between nature, perception, and technology through moving images, 3D, and sound.

Melannie Jonas NG ^GY/CA Based in Montreal, Melannie Jonas-NG is a Guyanese-Canadian visual artist. Her practice blends code, film, and immersive installations to create hybrid narratives exploring diasporic memory and interactivity.
